Boosting Primary Healthcare in Nigeria: ALGON Set to Host Technical Workshop

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) is set to host a high-level Technical Workshop on its Primary Healthcare Revitalization and Operationalization Programme (PHC-ROP) in Abuja on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024.

This event aims to enhance primary healthcare service delivery across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

In collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser on Health to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Health, and other stakeholders, ALGON seeks to develop institutional capacity and responsiveness in primary healthcare.

The workshop’s objective is to enable local governments to develop institutional mechanisms and multi-stakeholder engagements aimed at rejuvenating and entrenching primary healthcare service delivery.

This effort aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to enforce the Supreme Court judgment on Local Governments’ autonomy and deliver the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs).
