Northern Groups Vow to Confront Wike Over ‘Bandit-Like’ Threats Against Bauchi State

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has vowed to confront Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over his recent “bandit-like” threats against Bauchi State.

The CNG spoke in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi.

The group condemned Wike’s behavior in the strongest terms, describing his outburst on live television as “disgraceful” and “thuggish”.

The CNG expressed shock and disappointment that a figure with such a notorious reputation holds a position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.FCT Minister Nyesom Wike

The group emphasized that Wike’s threats are not only an affront to the people of Bauchi State but also a direct challenge to the peace and stability of Northern Nigeria.

“No one has a monopoly on thuggery or intimidation,” the CNG warned, making it clear that they do not take such threats lightly. The group vowed to confront Wike and anyone who believes they can bully or destabilize the region.

The CNG described it as a tragedy for Nigeria that individuals with a glaring lack of respect for the rule of law and civil discourse are appointed to high offices in the Federal Government.

They called on President Tinubu to urgently reconsider the inclusion of “volatile and unrefined elements” in his government.

The group remains committed to defending Northern Nigeria against any form of aggression or intimidation and has vowed to respond with equal force to any threat posed by Wike or his ilk.
